1. Introduction

StudyNest is a product built and operated by Afif Innovation. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect when you use StudyNest, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your data.

By creating an account or using StudyNest, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these practices, please do not use the service.

2. About the Beta Program

StudyNest version 1.6 is an early-access beta offered free of charge for up to 6 months from account activation. After the beta period concludes, Afif Innovation makes no commitment to retain, migrate, or continue hosting your data. We recommend exporting your data before the beta window closes.

3. Information We Collect

When you register and use StudyNest, we collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password — or your Google account identifier if you sign in via Google OAuth.
  • Study data: lessons, syllabus entries, exam schedules, results, notes, and any other content you create within the platform.
  • Usage metadata: timestamps, browser type, operating system, and session data required to operate and secure the service.

We do not collect financial information, national identification numbers, biometric data, or any other sensitive personal data.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the StudyNest service.
  • Authenticate your account and protect it from unauthorised access.
  • Respond to support or troubleshooting requests you initiate.
  • Analyse aggregated, anonymised usage patterns to improve product quality and user experience.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Data Security

Afif Innovation implements reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls on our systems. We follow industry-standard practices to minimise the risk of unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction of your information.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Access to Your Personal Data

We do not access, view, or review the personal content you store in StudyNest. The only exception is when you explicitly request troubleshooting assistance and give your consent for a support team member to inspect the relevant data. Any such access is limited in scope to resolving the reported issue and is revoked once the issue is closed.

7. Data Retention and Beta Expiry

During the beta period, your account and study data are retained for the duration of your active session and up to the 6-month beta window. After the beta period ends, Afif Innovation is not committed to retaining user data indefinitely. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you in advance of any scheduled data deletion, but we cannot guarantee ongoing data storage beyond the beta timeframe.

If you wish to keep a copy of your data, please export it before the beta period concludes. You may also request account deletion at any time by contacting us.

8. Third-Party Services

StudyNest may integrate with trusted third-party services, including:

  • Google OAuth — for optional sign-in via your Google account. Your interaction with Google is governed by Google's own Privacy Policy.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers — for server, database, and CDN services. These providers are contractually bound to appropriate data-protection standards.

9. Children's Privacy

StudyNest is designed for students and their families. Users under the age of 13 must have a parent or legal guardian review this Privacy Policy and provide consent before creating an account or using the service.

10. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct any inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Delete your account and associated personal data.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification or email. Continued use of StudyNest after a policy update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
